Blaster – Willing To Train

We are looking for a Blaster to work in a fast-paced industrial environment; blasting primarily large steel/metal materials. First Shift – Full-Time

Primary Responsibilities:

Operating Equipment – Grit blasting equipment such as hoses, nozzles and hoods. Various blast media such as metal grit and glass bead.

Blast Knowledge – Experience with various grades of blast quality. WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT CANDIDATE

Quality Control – Knowledge of the difference between blast grades is a plus, as well as knowledge of metal fabrications on what type of media should be used for different grades of metal.

Set-up and Clean-up – Responsible for functionality and maintenance of assigned equipment. Should know or will be trained on how to disassemble blast nozzles and clean thoroughly and at end of day and be able to prep for next day’s work swiftly. Set-up and shut-down must be completed expeditiously to maximize blast-time. Must also learn, understand and adhere to clean up guidelines.

Teamwork – Must maintain constant contact with supervisors and coworkers to assure safety, efficiency and open communication. Must be willing to shift priorities as needed to optimize efficiency.

Cross training – All employees are cross trained to perform other duties, such as, but not limited to: Painting, Material Handling, Quality Control, etc.

Meetings – Attend staff meetings at start of each shift with shift supervisors, shipping and receiving supervisor and quality control supervisor.

Time Management – Blasters are responsible for tracking time allocated to various jobs that occur simultaneously and submit accurate time card at the end of each day. Team Members are expected to cooperate and assist others as necessary to boost productivity.

Safety – Blasters are required to go through training and testing for required machinery and abide by procedures for operating equipment and for conduct on the shop floor.

Policies & Procedures – All team members are expected to have a basic understanding of Profile Finishing Systems employee handbook and know general protocol for conduct and performance expectations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Blasters are trained with in-depth knowledge of paint production warehouse and/or heavy industrial background.
• Industrial Blast Booth experience is not required, but is a plus. Attention to detail mandatory to avoid runs, skips and other quality issues.
• Basic knowledge of quality control practices are beneficial.
• Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.• Strong work ethic is a must. Unexcused absences and tardiness will not be tolerated.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills are required.

• Fork Lift experience is a plus.

Industrial Painter – 2nd Shift

Job Title: Painter –  2nd Shift

Position Summary:

Must be able to take direction and work in a fast-paced industrial environment; priming, painting/coating primarily large steel/metal materials.

Operating Equipment – Both conventional and airless methods used for epoxy, urethane and polyurethane paints. (Powder coating and automotive painting not necessarily transferable.)

Paint Knowledge – Experience with mixing paint as well as an understanding of its constituents and characteristics for ease in applying is a plus. As well as knowledge of anticipated drying times and correcting of flaws when necessary. (Willing to Train)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Prefer knowledge of paint production warehouse and/or heavy industrial background.
  • Conventional and airless painting experience are a plus. Attention to detail is mandatory to avoid runs, skips and other quality issues.
  • Must also be conscientious of safety and clean-up.
  • Basic knowledge of quality control practices and experience with wet mil gauges is beneficial.
  • Strong work ethic is a must. Unexcused absences and tardiness will not be tolerated.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills required.

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Some jobs require working at heights that exceed 20 feet (after 90-day probationary period).
• May experience significant changes in room temperatures in severely hot or cold weather.
• Safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs, and steel toe boots must be worn at all times on shop floor.
• Must have pulmonary fit test along with hearing tests performed annually.

CDL Instructor

Entry Level CDL Instructor

Job Summary and Purpose:

To coordinate all activities pertaining to knowledge and skills development of students enrolled in CDL School.

Job Duties:

  • To coordinate all Yard and Road activities of students assigned to you
  • Conduct training of students assigned to you.
  • Perform minor repairs and adjustments on School equipment.
  • Inform lead instructor of any school equipment that needs maintenance beyond minor adjustments.
  • Be a point of contact for any student problems.
  • Inform the lead instructor of any concerns, complaints, or problems with students.
  • Maintain statistical systems for assessing student’s progress.
  • Maintain all records required by WEAB and WI-DOT pertaining to school licensing.
  • Maintain and help lead instructor update curriculum
  • Prepare reports for management review concerning student training.

Eligibility Requirements – Would prefer at least 3 years of CDL Driving Experience.

  • General Knowledge of transportation systems.
  • Ability to communicate with others for a common goal.
  • Ability to read, write and perform simple mathematical calculations.
  • General knowledge of the state of Wisconsin requirements for truck driver training institutions.
  • General knowledge of curriculum development.
  • Knowledge of technical systems used for classroom instruction.
  • Must be able to pass D.O.T. Testing for State certified licensed instructor.
  • Must have current CDL and be able to pass physical requirements.
  • Be able to work a couple of Saturdays when necessary and willing to work late if a student needs extra help.

Work Environment:

  • The entry level instructor may spend from 50 to 75% of time out-of-doors, exposed to potentially difficult environmental conditions.
  • The entry level instructor may spend from 25 to 50% of time within the training department building in either a classroom environment or performing administrative duties.
